Terrorised...

I have just returned after a brief outing in the near by marketplace. One thing that struck me was if someone was to open fire in one of those extremely crowded shops, there would certainly be no escape and probably more people would die of the stampede than bullets. It then struck me , that terrorism has become passe. Its rather alarming to be thinking about such things on a Sunday evening, when one supposed to be ideally unwinding.

But given whats been happening in amchi mumbai, one better stop to give a thought to all that is lost in the nuture of utmost hatred. The event has left me short of words.

What I have been unable to articulate, has been so expertly brought out by a good friend of mine, which you too can read by clicking  here. I think what he's written is simply perfect, and strongly recommend you read it too.

For now,
All I can do is a silent prayer.

I understand the feeling that you are going through and I am sure not only Mumbai but the rest of India would be having that fear of the terrorist attacks which would take some time to be erased.

I only wish that the people of India would not succumb to this fear factor as when you do that then the terrorist have won the psychological war over the independence of the freedom loving people of India.

@merc,
ya babe...have been in my own world as well...not been reading much...

@manickam,
i agree with you yo!!!absolutely. its probably a parallel economy running- rather thriving on hatred and blood shed. Its quite a mystery as to what exactly it is that keeps such things going. Especially with such strong international judicial systems in place. I really don't know what it takes to weed them out.

The first time I was in Bombay, me and my friend stood gazing in front of the Taj. Dumb struck was a mild expression.

We marveled at the glimpses of her every time the glass door swirled. I do not recall the exact emotions as stood gazing at it but it was several combinations of awe. It remember the magnificent door men from a distance. Pathans or Sardars I do not remember. But was smitten by the sheer elegance by which they handled 200 pound looking cases and they did that with a 1000 watt smile. I was a clear 30 feet away. Her warmth and sheer elegance floored me from this far. We started the nationality count next. Arabs, Europeans, Africans and a plethora of other accents we could not decipher.

To quote one of my friends - "One of my short term goals in life was to dine at the Zodiac". Not that i'd dare to review it!

She made ordinary people coming coming out of her place look special. I don't know why though. I'm a sucker for this type of class - so apparent yet understated. And she had it. Mebbe that why. A tear trickles down my cheek as I rewind. Sigh.

I had to take this step to ensure that ppl around(read parents,relatives and certain others)dun read into my space and hence make life difficult for me.Its already started in a small way for they are apprehensive of certain things and this is makin me uneasy.So I decided to take the plunge by bailing myself outta the old one and off to this one
